Here's my first entry:  colors:  Vintage Red, Heather Blue, Claim Jumper Yellow, Ivory and Black...I'd love to see your Vintage creations, even if you just use shades of these colors!

This Napkin holder had rather humble beginnings.  It was definitely a piece that was looked over by most, unless you just adore Roosters!  My husband loves Vintage items, and cringes at the idea of painting over and covering up any natural aging, in fact he did not heart me to alter the painting.  I finally disregarded his pleas and decided to revive the painted portion with fresh paint and so glad I did, and of course he realized he was, gasp, wrong!  A steady hand and the right paint brush and I learned that its pretty simple to re- create the painted portions when all you have to do is follow the paint preceding you.  I used the new Distress paints and they are so lovely to work with!  The color is intense, the paint so very creamy, it goes on with lovely coverage.  Each bottle is well worth the added expense of these paints.

After the touch up I muted the paints with some brush strokes of Walnut stain.  This restored the aged look very nicely, softening the brightness of fresh paint, renewing some of the vintage goodness!   I then added the lovely Graphic 45 French Country papers.  This project has been over a month in the making and I'm very pleased with this napkin holder, it will be a lovely addition to my kitchen table!

I will be entering this into the following challenges:
