Tim Holtz September Tags of 2013

OWell since I enjoyed making the August Tag of 2013 so much I decided to participate again, albeit I'm pretty far into the the last hour of the last day!  I actually created this a few days ago, just forgot to post it!

I ended up making two since I didn't like how the first one was turning out, but as I kept moving along in the process I ended up liking it enough to show all of you!

I won't tell you which one I started first!

Thanks for stopping step, Tim's blog!

Hiding In My Craft Room #116 Lot of Layers - Final Post

Hello all, I hope you having  a great weekend!!  Sadly this is my final post with Hiding In My Craft Room.  Laurie and all of the talented ladies there have been such a blessing.  My schedule has been so packed lately, mostly with work in our office, that I dont feel I have given adequate attention to my commitment there so it's time for me to say good bye.

For my final challenge there we are playing with Lots of's a little card with a few nice layers, mostly they involved layering the opposite way we card makers and scrappers do layers.  I layered my frame on top of my featured stamp, then layered that on my design paper then layered onto the card.

I layered some Tsinko shimmery Pink ink onto black paper.

Thanks again to my fellow teamies at Hiding In My Craft Room and thanks for stopping by!

It's Birthday Time!!!  This week at Tammy's Scrppin Corner, Team Marc is Challenging everyone to show us your Birthday Creations.  Our sponsor this week is Birdie Brown. Please stop by the blog at and show us your Birthday cards!

Isn't this digi just adorable?  I used my Distress Re-inkers and watercolor paper to color this image.  My Distress pens also came in handy for the small details.  The coloring is not perfect but I think it adds to the charm of the image.  This challenge came just in time for a family members Birthday!

Other Supplies:
Paper: BoBunny and Studio Calico
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Postage Stamp die
Bakers twine and Buttons

Thanks for stopping by and Blessings to you all!

SSS - Hiding In My Craftroom

Greetings!  I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday!  It's Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding In My Craft Room and we are all playing in our scrap stash.  Here is a card I made from a tag.

The tag was not exactly in my Scrappy Stash but close enough...late last night I was fooling around with my inks and making backgrounds on tags.  Very often those end up in my scraps pile.  Today it was on my desk with the other tags I was playing with.  This tag started with a mix of Picket Fence Distress Stain, Perfect Pearls mist in turquise and the Turquoise shade of Dyan Reavly"s spray inks.  There was also some leftover Picket Fence mixed with Dyan's Dirty Martini left on the craft sheet which you can see with the green patches in the middle.  The photo does not do this tag justice since you can't see the fabulous shimmer from the Perfect Pearls.   I stamped it with a new Penny Black stamp and then added the quilt-like flowers stamped with white chalk ink.  Little pearls dotted all around and then I found this cute tea pot charm/pendant laying around, I would definitely refer to that as a "scrap" of sorts since I'm sure I  picked it up on sale and didn't know what I was going to do with it and it was just loose away from all of  my other Jewelry finds.  Lastly I noticed that cute sillouete  on the packaging fro the pendant so I just fussy cut her and added the little pearl to the largest circle.  That is a scrap for sure since it was headed for the trash!

The green background paper was in my scraps and the doily was also in a box with lots of leftover die cuts that I check when I am making these SSS projects.

Have fun looking through your Scrap piles, you never know what treasures are just dying to be used!

I will be entering this into the following challenges:

Coffee, Chocolate and Cards  - Anything Goes
Daringcardmakers - Signiture Style
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Quick Quotes - Anything Goes

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - School Time

Happy Monday!  My kiddos started school three weeks ago and I'm still doing my happy dance!  This last summer seemed to suck my mojo right out of me but I'm so happy it's back!
This week at Tammy's Scrapin Corner we are sponsored by the wonderful A Day for Daisies!  I just adore their stamps, I know I say it every time, but I just can't help myself!  Here is a digi called "Read to Me"

So much fun playing with this image...I actually added to it by drawing a chalkboard behind those two darling little girls.

Be sure to stop by and play along for a chance to win some lovely digi's.

Ecclectic Elapu - Puppy Love

I found this stamp ( from Inkadinkadoo) this week and just fell in love...literally puppy love!  It fit the theme of this weeks Pink Team Challenge at Eclectic Elapu perfectly.

I decided to color him in with my Copic markers and used my Uchida glue pen to add some !artha Stewart Copper glitter to his bells on his collar.  Various Copic markers were dotted around him to create a rug of sorts and a neutral gray outlines him for a bit of depth.  I used my Spellbinders to cut him out and a frame in red design paper from K&COMPANY Brenda Walton Christmas papers.    I found some velvet Pointsettia stickers for accent and some mini letter circles to spell JOY in the corner.

Who wouldn't love a puppy at Chrisrmas, if only for a few days anyways!

Please come by and share your creation this week at
And watch for our treasure hunt starting in October...great fun and a chance to win some fab prizes!

Hiding In My Craft Room - color challenge

Hello friends, Happy Saturday!  This week at Hiding In My Craftroom we are having our color challenge...we are using three Stamping up colors as our guide:  Artichoke, Curry and Cajun Red.  Of course this is a jumping off point and you don't have to use these exact colors.  I broke out my favorite paper line which often features that color combination ...Graphic 45 of course!

I made a card with the combination of a art cut-out from the Botanica Bella which I colored in from with Distress markers (the sea horse), I used the Tim Holtz chit chat words stickers and copied it onto craft paper, on that I stamped An botanical image with clear embossing powder then I placed it onto some dry embossed cardstock.  The background paper is from the French Country collection.  Added a Tim Holtz sentiment, a Graphic 45 key staple and some twine.  I made a few other cards with this same combo which I'll post another time.  I loved this Combo!

Our sponsor this week is with a $25 gift certificate! Also, for the entire month of September when you place an order from them and mention HIMCR you will receive a free small gift! Plus, offers FREE shipping within the US for every order totaling $25 or more
Be sure to enter your creation, we would love to see your work:

Technique Time Tuesday - Faux Silk Technique

Hello and long time no see to my fellow friends at Technique Time Tuesday.  Life just got very hectic this summer and I just needed to take a break but I'm back and raring to go with all the fabulous techniques we showcase at the Technique Time Tuesday Challenge Blog!

This month we are playing around with the Faux Silk technique.  It's super simple to do, and with the right stamps this technique really shines.

I used a pretty large stamp for this card, it's one of my favorites because its so pretty and really fun to color. It's from Stampendous and its called Rananculous Field.  I decided to use very pale pink tissue paper vs. white for a little variety.  I colored the image with Distress markers and a water brush that was barely wet.  You do need to be careful as I did tear the paper a bit since it got too wet as I was moving around my watercolor.  I ended up just excluding that part of the image...after I glued the tissue paper down I did a color wash with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Glitter Paint in Butterscotch.  It was more of a glaze than a paint really since its very translucent, shiny and glittery!  It's really pretty on person and I highly recommend it, I now own it in about seven colors.

I finished the card with a sentiment from a Hero Arts Friendship Clear stamp set, papers from My Minds Eye and a few flat back pearls.

Be sure to stop by the blog for the tutorial and enter your card for a chance to win some cool prizes!

Thank you for stopping by...Blessings to you all!
