Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Anything Goes with Lots of Layers

It's Party Time!  This week at Tammy's Scrapin Corner, Anything Goes with Lots of Layers, I chose an image from Bugaboo stamps to celebrate my wonderful Mother-in-Laws 80th Birthday!  I decided to use one of the '
 funny Stella images because it truely fit the occasion.

I got to cut into my hoarded Graphic45 LeCirque stash to complement this image!  It's hard to see in the photos but lots of details in the papers have been highlighted with Dry Distress glitter.  I also got to break out the Rainbow Honeycomb paper I bought at Archivers this past summer during my trip to Chicago!  There more fun when the card is opened;

A banner was created with some pre-cut pieces of chipboard which I covered with mini polka dot paper, black soot distressed and I used the Sizzix Tim. Holtz alps strip die to spell out Happy 80th B Day.  Again in person you would see the dusting of Distress glitter not picked up by the camera.  The banner is attached on the sides so there is movement.

I will be entering this into the following Challenges: - Punches/or Dies (letters/rosette) - emboss wet or dry Odd Man Out #17SFC1713 - use at least 1 Die Cut (letters/rosette) - BINGO Pennant - Free space -Button (yellow cake on rosette) - truely scrumptious ( B-Day cake) - lots of Die Cuts - Letters, rosette - Mothers Day, for a special Lady digi image and button (cake button on rosette) - Die cuts and Punches (letters and rosette) - Day #117 - Emboss it - Celebrations - 80th B-Day

Happy Mothers Day - Hiding In My Craftroom

Hello friends!  Well it's that time of year again, time to honor the Mothers in our lives!  This year things are a little different around our home, I get an extra kid in the form of a foreign exchange student named Luca.  Being a host parent has been a very rewarding and enriching experience, being made really special for me because of the "son" I have gained.  Luca is a very intelligent, polite and caring young man with a great future ahead of him.  He is from Italy, and his rich culture has brought a lot of joy to our home.   Since he would be be away from his Mama this year I offered to make a card for him.

This week at Hiding in My Craft Room our challenge is to create a Mothers Day card and here is mine for Anna Maria, Luca's mother:

Here are some more photos

The digi image is from A Day for Daisy's, and it's called AngelsResting , you can find it here;
Here is the image uncolored,  Angels Resting  I show you this to point out a few small changes I made:  in the image the child angel is a girl, not a boy,  so...I used some white paint to hide the top tail and since she is wearing a sleeveless gown like her mother angel, I add a line on the arm for a shirt sleeve and with the magic of Copics,  and Distress embossing powder and voila, she is now a he in a angel's gown!

The interior holds the sentiment translated into Italian.  It reads "Thank you Mom for all your love, and letting me sprout my own wings". I found the Sentiment in a book called Inspiration Station by Betsy Flot.
I used papers from Colorbok and My Minds Eye.  The image was copied onto watercolor paper and I used Distress Markers and Distress Stains to color.  The white flower is Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers cut from pale blue organza and cheese cloth.  It is fastened together with a vintage pearl button and has a Prima pearl cluster surrounding it. Other pearls are Martha Stewart and Recollections.  The die cut flower from the interior is Spellbinders.

I will be entering this into the following challenges: - add newsprint (part of the interior) - my favorite things (water colored images) - Rainbow colors- my colors:  blue, purple, green - girlie - old stash (design papers) - bargain bin - letter stickers on clearance must use an inspirational sentiment or scripture
- Mother's Day - Day #114 - Word Wednesday "Soft" - #54 - Flowers for Mom/ used papers I've been hoarding! - one image, two DP, 3 embellies - color challenge

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and make comments, I really do appreciate them!  Be sure to drop by Hiding In My Craft Room to enter your Mothers Day creations into the challenge

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Bling it up

This week on Tammy's Scrappin Corner we want you to "Bling it Up"!!!

This image is from

I colored the digi with colored pencils, blended them a stump with some mineral oil and then filled in with some Copic markers.  Her hair was the same but I even added some Strokes of pearl paint.  Her wings are filled in with Copics and Stickles.  I sprayed the finished coloring with Glitter Glam in Diamond and it has the most beautiful sheen in person, I wish you all could see this up close!

I broke out my Cricut to make the cloud which I painted with Diamond Sickles and the orange toned swirls which got dots of Perfect Pearrls Paint in copper.

The sentiment is one I found in a Sentiment guide book called
I then cut it out with my Spellbinders and then glitter glue and some rhinestones!

I will be entering this into the following challenges; - Add a Glitter faithful or meaningful sentiment - Day #108 - Glitz Blitz

Be sure to stop by Tammy's Scrapin Corner and show us your Blingalicious creations!

Hiding in My Craft Room - Banners

It's Saturday and its time to come out of hiding for Hiding in my Craftroom!  We are playing with Banners this week.  I was goofing around with a stamp set from Inspired by Stamping called Inspiring Sentiments and the lightbulb went off...why not create a little subway art square with my stamps?  And so ten minutes later this was born! My Subway style square is filled with a lot of the different wonderful sentiments Joanna placed in the set, plus one more from my own stash... I placed them all on my trusty Fiskars stamping acrylic stamping thing-a-majig and stamped my sentiment compilation.  If you would like to see or purchase this set of Sentiments, which is very fabulous and a great value for your money, the link follows. (I am not affiliated with Inspired by Stamping in any way, although I wish I was on her Design Team, but I digress!)

The top sheet happened to be the negative from a Spellbinders cut so it served as the perfect frame.  I stamped the sentiments using my Versafine  brown ink onto some My Minds Eye design paper and then cut it out with my die and I happened to remember I had those "Want to Scrap" bling stickers that fit my die perfectly.  I inked all my edges with Vintage Photo distress, glued down some sweet rose colored ruffled netting trim and some twine leftover from a clothing tag and then punched out a few bunting/banner shapes with my Fiskars Jenni Bowlin  hand punch.  Lastly  I stuck down a Jollee's sticker Embellishment. And decorated a bit inside the card.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

IBSIC-#53 Try a new technique, something you've never done before - I tried to create a Subway word "box" using a bunch of different sentiment words on my stamping block, stamping themall together at once - Challenge #140 - friendship - tic tac toe (lace, gems, flowers

Celebration Mini Album

Last year my cousin got married.  They had a rather large Rehearsal Dinner/celebration the night before the wedding so I made them an mini album to chronicle the event.

Here's a few photos:

This was the cover.

Here's the box to hold it in.

I made this with the Teresa Collins /Recollections stack that celebrates memories and moments.  I felt it was the perfect combination of modern meets vintage.  Plus the blue and yellow (goldenrod) are their school colors; Michigan State (I think).

The album is based upon the Kathy Orta "Build-a-Page"  which is quite simple to create but looks complicated and has a big impact.

I will be entering this into the following challenges; - "Love Fool"  - this book is for a newlywed couple
from their wedding rehearsal dinner/party/ roast - butterflies/bird (box cover) up cycle - the box was created from a tray insert
From a ribbon box

Thanks for stopping by...and please join me if you like what you see ;) I always like making new friends!

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Spring Has Sprung

Hello Friends!  At Tammy's Scrappin Corner this week we are celebrating Spring!  I'm so glad it's arrived!  In fact my family and I we really spoiled yesterday with an absolutely gorgeous day yesterday so we spent sometime at the beach!  Where I live the beach often means sweatshirts (yes, even here in California).  But yesterday the conditions were just right to enjoy the sea, even though we did not swim, and be ever so thankful to God that we live in such a beautiful location!  I hope you can appreciate the beauty of wherever you live in this beautiful springtime world (or fall for our friends Down Under!)

Onto the Challenge!  This week we are sponsored by Eureka Stamps, so be sure to enter for a chance to win a digi prize or one of our Top Three badges!

In honor of spring I decided to photograph my card outside!

I used the Baroque Square digi from Eureka Stamps which I colored in with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers and a Stampin Up green marker, along with water to blend. After it dried I used a bit of Perfect Pearls and my water brush to highlight some areas and then some Stickles.  Graphic 45 Moment in time May images and June background paper was used for the rest of the card.  Here's an indoor photo that shows some details a bit more clearly:

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

-Spring Delights letter of your name;  A is for Apricot color and
C in my last name Crist is for Clock all brights or all pastels - BlogHop
Pastel colors and/or polka dots
