Tammy's Scrappin Corner - Vintage Anything Goes

Yeah! It's Vintage time at Tammy's Scrappin Corner!  We also are being sponsored by one of my favorite Digi Companies, A Day For  Daisies.   Show off your newly inspired vintage creations with us for a chance to win some awesome digi's!

These two lovely ladies are my Grandmother on the left and her sister on the right, circa early 1940's.  Aren't  they beautiful ?  The digi is called "Picture Perfect" and her pose was so reminiscent of the ladies in  the Graphic 45 Curtain Call collection that I was compelled  to break into my stash to use it!

I really loved creating this layout, especially coloring in the digi image with my Copic markers. I will say that going for the muted/monochromatic look was more challenging but worth it for the results.  I'm excited to be entering this into the Day For Daisies challenge blog this week where their theme is Anything Goes!  I am also entering this into where the theme is Song Inspired, this makes me think
Of the old tune "You ought to be in Pictures".

I will also be entering this into the following challenges: - use a dearly beloved stash item -    Graphic 45 Curtain Call - Song inspired "You ought to be in Pictures" - Scrapbooking Layouts Only - Anything Goes  with positive words
Http:// - Anything Goes - Bingo - ribbon-flowers-sentiment

Thank you for stopping by this week, I will be offering blog candy shortly so if you are interested be sure to subscribe so you will be's gonna be a big package as I have lots of double ordered (on accident) goodies to offer a lucky subscriber!

Faux Linen Technique (HIMCR)

Hello and welcome!  It's technique time at Hiding in my Craftroom and we are trying out the Linen Technique.  If you want to try it out yourself you can go to Splitcoast Stampers here;

I would like to add a tip:  don't do what I did, which was to use a background stamp that was too busy.  I had to sand down quite a bit of my inking to allow the Linen look to show through.  If I had thought about it more I might have used pastel colors with lots of white space.  Oh well, I guess that's part of the creative process.  I ought to known better and changed my design plan but a motto I really like is "Don't Deviate From the plan". Also, I did a bit of extra sanding in various areas after I distress inked my background and went back ver them with some ink.

So, are YOU up for the challenge ?  I encourage you to give it a try!  Take some time to hide out in your craft room and show us what you did! If you would like to see some examples of a  different way/ look of a faux linen background technique then be sure to stop by .

Thanks for stopping by and if you like what you see won't you please join my blog?
