Just Believe

Sometimes a stamp just jumps out at you and you HAVE TO HAVE it!  That's what I experienced with this snarky (yes it is a word, it passed the spell check on my blog app!) stamp.

Easy peasy to make, the most complicated step was to double emboss the star on top because my glitter EP was not prominent enough!

I will be entering this into the following challenges: Challenge #160 - Boy oh Boy - #198 add some Glitter Challenge 29 - anything goes - #117 - Anything goes Always

Ooh La La Spots and Dots

Well I am fully recovered from a lovely low-key Thanksgiving weekend!  I'm now heading into Christmas mode as are most of you!  In addition to Christmas I am usually planning for my two of my children's daughter turns 15 on the 12th of December...her birthday this year is 12-12-12, pretty cool!  My son will be 17 on the 17th!  But this year I am relieved from party planning and instead I will be making vacation plans as we are all traveling to Hawaii for a memorable Family Adventure!  We are all beginning to get very excited around here!

Onto the project of my weekend, at least one of them! For the next two weeks the design team of Ooh La La Creations welcomes you to join us as we create cards with the theme "Spots and Dots".   Here is my Design Team entry:

This image is from the Passion for Fashion CD and the Red Dotted paper is from the All Dressed Up Cd.  The dotted paper is actually shown as red and white on the CD but I printed it in cream card stock and got the vintage look I was going for! The third paper is from Graphic 45,  Curtain Call.

Here are a few more images:

A Spellbinders die added to the Art Deco feel of the image.  Stickles around the image is a technique I really like a lot.

I used a cut out from the DCWV stack called "Timeless Type" of the framed tan paper and added the Italian Post card stamps, they are from Inspired Stamping, as well as the Follow your bliss sentiment in red.

I am entering this card into an Inspired Stamping Inspiration Sketch Challenge #36

I hope you will come join us at Ooh La La Creations this fortnight's the link;

I am also entering this into the following challenge's: - anything goes excluding Christmas - add a bow

Thanks for stopping by today...I love to make new friends from all over the world and   I am finding so many lovely individuals who love paper crafting as much as I do and I am blessed to pieces , so if you would like to get to know me better please follow me and I will do the same!  When you follow me, and leave comments, it really does mean a lot to me!

So Thankful

As I countdown to Thanksgiving I have a few more cards to's the latest;

I stamped the large background stamp on white La Blanche stamping paper using multiple colors of Archival Ink ( Olive, Monarch Orange, Sienna, Sepia and Pale Ochre).  I tore out the image, inked the torn edge and then sprayed Lindys Stamp Gang in Clam Bake Beige to create a shimmery Ivory color.  I laid it on an embossed and glittered piece of card stock, and two different side B 7Gypsies papers.  I tied it with twine and added the die cut branch from the Tim Holtz Holly Branch die, which was also glittered with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter (which i colored using Wild Honey Distress Ink for one batch and Vintage Photo for another), unfortunately its hard to see in the photo. Another die was cut from the TH Tattered Leaves die and a pumpkin I stamped on some DCWV Autumn Melody DP, which I then fussy cut.   The pumpkin was stamped with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing powder so it has lots of texture.  Added a Zva flourish and some amber colored gems.  lastly I used a Spellbinders banner die which I stamped and embossed with a 7Gypsies alphabet.  I love Fall and will miss these Autumnal creations :(.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
: - Thanksgiving or Thanks

(Brown, Glitter, starts with B - branch) -  #106 cut, crop &  Die - more than one die cut (3) Any Die Will Do - no digi's

Thanks for stopping by!

Purple Power

Hello friends, I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday!

The Play Date Cafe has once again given us a lovely set if colors to challenge us with this week.

I decided to do some Art Journaling.  Still trying to loosen up a bit more so I have not shown you guys some of my prior here goes:

I used a combination of sprays....Dylusions in Crushed Grape, Glimmer Mist in Night B4 Christmas, and Glimmer Glam paint in Royal Velvet, the paint is both painted on and splattered lightly.  I sprayed water onto mt page first, sprayed the colors and then laid down the adjacent page to I have another Purple page for a different work.  I used a Tim Holtz stamp for the crackle look in the background and a Kaiser Craft stamp for the bubble wrap background.  I stamped those with Archival Ink in Plum and Deep Purple.  I then stamped the dress form from THoltz in black Archival as well as the "always" stamp, I don't remember who makes that one.

Using the following photo as inspiration;

 I chose to create a heart using stamped images of spool tops.  These came from Maya Road and Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous.  I used Archival inks again in Plum, Deep Purple, Blue Violet and Magenta Hue. I love using the Archival inks with clear stamps as they seem to give the clearest stamped images.

Finally I did some embellishing with Momenta Metal Stickers and some pen work.  I replicated stitching as a boarder, around the heart too, right next to the heart I used a TH SA stamp which replicates a zig zag stitch.  I wanted some "pop" so I used a Marvy Deco Color Liquid Gold paint pen.

I'm loving the art journaling, I highly recommend everyone give it a try, you probably have most of the supplies laying around your craft space for a fun page!

I will be entering this into the following challenges, besides TPDC : - stitching - real or faux - Day 258 - Inkalicious (don't ya just love the name of that challenge?!!!

Ooh La La Creations Challenge DT First Entry

I'm so excited to be able to share this card with you's my first submission as a part of the Ooh La La Creations Challenge Design Team!!!!!  Our challenge for the next two weeks is "Someone Special".

Since  I have just joined the team I am waiting for my CD of images to be sent to me, from France no less!  It's not called Ooh La La for nothing ya know!  I am thrilled to join them and I'm not sure if I should be flattered or not, but I am the only American on the team!  I will choose flattered!!  These are a great group of very talented card makers and crafters.  Lots of different  design styles which makes for a nice take on the images we use.  As you may have figured out by now they have a shop in which they sell CD's of artwork from a variety of different artists from around the world.  There really is something for everyone so stop on by and take a look here at their Online Craft Shop.

Here is my entry

I used a darling vintage image which is available at the shop.  Its available under the Digital
Downloads tab, in the Pyramids and Toppers Section (P3).

I decided to break out my Spellbinders frame set.  It has these cute dots on it.  I cut out the large
frame and then set the smaller frame inside it to create a frame for my image.  I inked  the frame interior with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint.  I used Graphic 45 Little Darlings paper for the green polka dot and the rose trellis background paper.  The pink roses paper is Studio Calico.  I stamped and

embossed a Fiskars Sentiment with Ranger's Copper Embossing Powder.  I cut out some pink roses from a wide ribbon band I have filled with the silk ribbon roses and accented them with a few leavesI inked after I cut them out with a Spellbinder die. Finally I placed a little organza ribbon bow and then broke out my pearls and went CRAZY!  I love, love love details...Oh forgot to mention that I used my Diamond Stickles around the interior of the frame and its hard to see but the roses have been dabbed with the Stickles here and there.  When you move this card in the light it just sparkles!

 Here are a few other shots:

10 Minute Craft Dash #6

Well this is the first time EVER. That I have participated in a timed challenge...and boy it was a challenge indeed!  I have been working on a mini-album for my cousins rehearsal dinner, yes it was so big, it needs an album!  So I have been exclusively been using the colors Navy blue, white, yellow and tints of blue green, oh and gold.  While very pretty, crisp and beautifully clean looking it is, I have just grown irked of creating with the colors over and over.  I haven't had time to really participate in any challenges over the last couple weeks so when I saw this challenge in an email I jumped on board!

I think the burnout of blue and yellow over and over helped me to be able to quickly put it together in my mind!  Ok so here is our inspiration colors from Pretty Pink Posh

Here's their sample

And here's my card:

Sorry for the photo quality, it's late and probably not enough light going on.

 Have 10 minutes to do this and I finished in 9:47,  how's that for cutting it close!  Thankfully we can pick out our supplies ahead of time! That yellow is a scrap from the project I'm working on so it came in handy.  I also used some old Prima flowers from my stash that I adore, they are white so I sprayed them with some Glimmer Mist in  Marmalade to pick up the reddish orange shade in the challenge.  I also was able to use those cute brads that are Basic Grey, found those for a killer price on Clearance from my local Beverly's .  The most challenging part for me with the time constraints is the layout, usually I spend a lot of time on the composition so I felt rushed, but it was fun to do something different.  I'm learning to go with my gut and go for the first composition that comes to me!

These colors seemed like a cheery version of Thanksgiving so I took advantage of that for my sentiment.  Kinda fun to play around with 3 different word sources!

I will also be entering this into 365 Cards challenge Day 253 "Thrift Thursday" they are looking for: something from your stash 1 year old (Prima flowers) and something you got a killer deal on (brads).

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to The Perfect Sentiment

Happy Monday!  I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by!  Here's a Birthday card I made for  the Perfect Sentiments challenge ;

PSC53A: Happy Birthday/Happy Anniversary

I paper pieced stamps from The Crafts Meow "Stitched Flowers" set and used a greeting from the coordinating greetings stamps.  I used My Minds Eye  Lost and Found, Two, "Rosy" 6x6 stack, such cute papers!

And, since I am running a bit behind, and have been known to be late on birthday greetings, here's the inside:

I think that greeting was written just for me!  It's from the Stampendous Birthday Greetings set, which by the way is a really great "all around" handy stamp set!

Happy Anniversary to
Perfect Sentiments Challenge

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

 Just add a Pearl

Another noteworthy tidbit is that my new friends are across the pond in England, France, Norway, Scotland (I think), and a few other European countries I'm sure I missed!  Upon sharing the news with my 14 year old daughter she said "Cool Mom, you're International!"  So sweet!  My children are my #1 fans and they make me feel so good!  It appears that I am the only American on the team!  I am thrilled and honored (forgive me if I've already said that) to be joining these ladies and I look forward to their friendship and comraderie.

Ok so here is another journal I made last spring and I think it's an appropriate way to introduce myself to these ladies as the blog appears to be located out of the UK.

Here is the journal cover, I have been enamoured with all of the UK imagery that has been coming out and last spring was probably the height here in the US, especially with the Olympics in London.

I just adored this Graphic 45  ABC Primer collection!  The vintage schoolboy just spoke British to me with his darling red coat!

Inside I used the Tim Holtz Kraft resist paper with the times tables background, kinda spoke to me with the math theme! There is also a portion of a vintage doily tucked behind the pocket.  I can't seem to find an image of the tag, but I think it had a Scottie dog I had cut on my Cricut.

The journals were, made to sell at a craft faire taking place at a Christians Women's retreat I was attending.  A portion of sales was being donated to some Missionaries the camp supports.  Hence, there was a lot of inspiring messages tucked in here and there.

The back is left pretty simply so it can lay flat.  The bicycles were rub ons I found at Michael's, they were waiting in my stash to be used in the "perfect" spot!  The boarders 'were framed with more G45 papers from the Olde Curiosity Shoppe collection.

The final journal I want to show you also has a European flair, next we visit France!

I used the DCWV Tres Chic papers and throughout the journal you will see some ATC's which came from a swap I was involved in, some are from other people, like this beauty.

Here's the inside cover.  The sequins on the bottom is an elastic piece so you can tuck extra papers in.

The ATC on the right was one I made for the swap.  Used several Tim Holtz papers and the initials were stamped and embossed, the coordinating letter/initial was used for each participants name, so mine is an A.  I just loved this ATC and it just fit perfect with the layout and theme.

Back cover;  ATC in the corner is not my creation, but so pretty with these papers.  The garment image was stamped and heat this stamp!  The spool is from the Tim Holtz dies from Sizzix, just used some sequins "ribbon".  All Papers  in background also from DCWV.

Nice, simple and easy back cover using only the DP.

I will be entering these projects into a few challenges: - anything goes

Well thank you ALL for stopping by, and if you came from the OLLCDT I say "Nice  to meet you friend!"  If you like what you see please leave a comment and join my followers so we can continue are journey together, I'll be sure to do the same!
