Use Beads

This week the site "Less is More"  gave the challenge to use beads, here is my creation;

When I first saw this challenge I thought " now that really IS a challenge!"   How do you put a bead on a card, besides using glue?  Now I realize I COULD use glue, but I didn't want to.  I spotted some stamps I recently purchased from Michaels, a Seven Gypsies collection that contained several different numbers sets and knew I wanted to work with them. After stamping the cute numbers I played off the numbers idea by attaching wires to the card, 9 of them. I bent  the wire to create a hook of sorts on both ends that looped around the card.  I strung seed beads on each wire, 1, then 2, then 3, etc etc,  then I taped the ends on the back side.  I mounted the bead card onto playful polka dot paper, went to the computer and typed out the sentiment and then cut and pasted it...Voila!

I love the way it turned out!

I will be entering this into the following challenges; - go where you haven't gone before (used beads on a card) Anything goes with encouraging words - CAS

I decided to make our new Foreign Exchange Student/Son a journal so he could document his adventure.  I chose the burger because of his healthy appetite.  Being from Italy  food is an important part of his culture, it connects people and it certainly has helped to connect us to him!  He enjoys everything I make, even my Italian food, that's sweet since he is from the birthplace of some of the most delicious food on the planet!

Vintage Tag

Here's a tag and envelope combo I created during a spontaneous crafting agenda, just purely motivated by materials sitting around on my work desk!

The envelope is a Tom Holtz Glassine envelope.  I remember when these came out, it was a couple of years ago, just as I was making my way back not crafting...actually it was the Compendium of Curiosities that started this mad adventure back into Scrapbooking and creativity.  These envelopes sat around for a while but now I'm starting to put them to use!

I will be entering this into the following challenges; - anything goes (must have stamping) #32 - Masculine - use metal  - wheel embellishment on bike metal - wheel embellishment on bike - anything goes with @least 1 button - favorite embellishment - seam binding bow - tag your it challenge - anything goes

He has Risen!

This week at Tammy's Scrappin Corner we are celebrating Easter!  Our sponsor this week is Eureka Stamps

I used two DCWV stacks to create this, the Citrus stack and Lemon Flower, a couple of Spellbinders Nestabilities, a cross stamp in my stash, some seam binding that I dyed using Distress Stain in "Cut Grass" and of course most importantly the scripture digi Luke 24:5-6.

I pray your Easter will be filled with joy as you consider the death and Resurection of The Lord Jesus Christ.  Truely his act of love by dying on the cross for our sins and rising from the dead is the sacrifice and miracle that he performed out of His great love for us all so that we can one day experience eternity in Heaven with Him, if only we believe.

I chose my colors based on the challenge by

Butterfly fly, fly away

Butterflies away

I recently purchased a few embossing folders from Darice.  This butterfly one seemed perfect for the challenge at  Fashionable Stamping Challenge this week which is Swirls
 Fashionable Stamping Challenges

I started with the Tim Holtz paper in what I believe to be Brushed Corderoy, i stamped it with two Stampers Anonymous stamps then embossed it and added his Mettalic Stain and a Faber Castellated Gelato crayon.  The edges were distressed and inked with Distress ink in Brushed Corderoy.  I  I then added the following: G45 a Moment in Time March paper, TH On the Edge Butterfly die, TH Paper tape, TH metal corners, Ranger Pearls and cut out some  butterfly's from Calico Studio papers.  Lastly I felt the sentiment looked kinda plain so I re-stamped it onto some Studio Calico mauve paper and cut and pasted some of the words, I loved how it turned out!

I will be entering this into the following challenges; - swirls - 1-2-3 1 sentiment , 2 design papers,
 3 solid cardstock blessing/ inspirational wording - Challenge #52 - use older Die cuts/punches/cut outs - things that begin with F - flourish
-come fly with me

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #53 Shamrocks

This week we are celebrating St.Patricks Day at Tammy's Scrapin Corner by adding a Shamrock to our creations.  Be sure to link up your festive cards to have a chance to be a winner!

Here's my card, another stair stepper...I just can't seem to help myself ever since I received the instructions a week ago, I even modified them to fit my style (larger)!   The image is from Milk Coffee http://www.tam It's called with a Sunflower.  I thought it fitting she have red hair, being a St.Pattys Day girl!  The sunflower paper is from G45 as well as the purple checkerboard paper and the greeting on the bottom, they are both from the new collection.  I added the mini shamrock print and the stripe was actually from the end tab on the shamrock paper!  How's that for using it all up? lol!
The cream ribbon that I created a bow with was picked up at an Estate sale I attended last weekend, I just love looking through boxes for treasures!  It is actually velvet embossed, probably from the Sixties.

I realize this card may seem like a unnatural combo but sometimes you get an idea stuck in your head and you just can't shake it, that was the case for the sunflower cardstock, I just "had to" use it!

I will be entering this into the following challenges;

Use something recycled (vintage bow ribbon) a frame or mat - Spring has Sprung 3 embellishments starting with B
(two bling areas  and a bow, plus a boarder) green must use a digi - lavender & Lace (Lacey frame)

Lastly here's a link to a great giveaway
