Birthday #3

Greetings!  Well here we are with Birthday Card number 3...if your wondering about number 2' well that was my birthday so I obviously did not make myself a card!  My husband did give me a lovely card from the store with some beautiful sentiments!  I will say that is the one think I miss about making my own cards, some of the wordy poem type Sentiments have become really good and meaningful in regards to expressing how you feel about your relationship, Marriage in particular.  Anyhow they can't match the "from the heart" of a homemade creation!

This card is for my daughter Megan's 15th Birthday.  I can't believe we are almost halfway through adolescence...woo hoo!  I'm still alive!

This card was inspired by Mynettes Technique Tuesday challenge called "Faux Tile,". Her challenges are monthly so there's plenty of time to join in, and the technique is super easy and really creates a great impact.  For my card I started with a Dyan Reavely's stamp of the face.  I created a mask for it and began layering the dandelion stamp with pink and purple inks.  I also stamped a yellow piece of cardstock and cut it out and parsed it.  The masked was used once more to lay a stencil down to create the brick wall using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I then cut my "tiles", inked the edges with Iced Spruce Distress ink and then glued them back down onto a grayish purple card stock and then matted it on black cardstock and then a 5x7 card that I sprayed the top of with pinks and purple spray ink.

I added a dress form cut from fuchsia cardstock with black accents and a black satin bow.  Finally the sentiment, which is for a birthday but also reminiscent of the dandelion you blow on to make a wish.

This card is perfect for my daughter who is colorful, unique, beautiful, fashion conscious and one of a kind!  I LOVE YOU MEGAN!
