Two CAS Cards - Now That's a Challenge!

Two CAS Cards - Now That's a Challenge!

When 365 Cards Blog site issues a challenge for a CAS (Clean and Simple) card this week that required only a couple elements I was intrigued.  I am the queen of more is more but I do like looking at the CAS cards.  If anyone thinks those CAS cards take less time or are easier I think they are mistaken!  You have to be METICULOUS with everything!  That white space shows very little spec of dust!!!  The time it takes to re-do mistakes and apply things in a slow and deliberate matter seems to take just as many minutes/hours LOL!  Not to mention all the mental arguing that goes on in my head, its ugly.

The first card is based on a Challenge 196 called "Keep it Simple" found here.

Here's my interpretation:

I used a pre-made card that had the cut edge, applied a strip of green ink.  Then I came upon this cute litte birdhouse Cricut cut in my left-overs.  It was already mounted on the round die-cut, I dry embossed two lines 1/4" apart and placed the embelly on top with a pot dot.  "Best Wishes" was stamped in black from The Craft's Meow "Stitched Sentiments" stamp set.  Voila!  So cute and simple :)

The second card was based on the 365 Weekly Sketch

I guess since I was in the CAS state of mind I just interpreted this very simply. I used some ribbon I have been hoarding for a while.  It's a card that has about six beautiful shades of pinks, I chose the three that went well with the Papers I was using from DCWV "Sweet Shoppe"  I stamped and paper-pieced the cone.  I just adore this card, definitely my fav of the two :).

This card also works for the challenge over at Shopping Our Stash Challenge #168

It's a 3-2-1 challenge; Three pieces of ribbon, two Designer papers and One Sentiment.  I think that works?

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
Blessings Everyone!
