Faux Linen Technique (HIMCR)

Hello and welcome!  It's technique time at Hiding in my Craftroom and we are trying out the Linen Technique.  If you want to try it out yourself you can go to Splitcoast Stampers here;  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/faux_linen/

I would like to add a tip:  don't do what I did, which was to use a background stamp that was too busy.  I had to sand down quite a bit of my inking to allow the Linen look to show through.  If I had thought about it more I might have used pastel colors with lots of white space.  Oh well, I guess that's part of the creative process.  I ought to known better and changed my design plan but a motto I really like is "Don't Deviate From the plan". Also, I did a bit of extra sanding in various areas after I distress inked my background and went back ver them with some ink.

So, are YOU up for the challenge ?  I encourage you to give it a try!  Take some time to hide out in your craft room and show us what you did! If you would like to see some examples of a  different way/ look of a faux linen background technique then be sure to stop by http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/ .

Thanks for stopping by and if you like what you see won't you please join my blog?
