10 Minute Craft Dash #6
Well this is the first time EVER. That I have participated in a timed challenge...and boy it was a challenge indeed! I have been working on a mini-album for my cousins rehearsal dinner, yes it was so big, it needs an album! So I have been exclusively been using the colors Navy blue, white, yellow and tints of blue green, oh and gold. While very pretty, crisp and beautifully clean looking it is, I have just grown irked of creating with the colors over and over. I haven't had time to really participate in any challenges over the last couple weeks so when I saw this challenge in an email I jumped on board!
I think the burnout of blue and yellow over and over helped me to be able to quickly put it together in my mind! Ok so here is our inspiration colors from Pretty Pink Posh
Here's their sample
And here's my card:
Sorry for the photo quality, it's late and probably not enough light going on.
Have 10 minutes to do this and I finished in 9:47, how's that for cutting it close! Thankfully we can pick out our supplies ahead of time! That yellow is a scrap from the project I'm working on so it came in handy. I also used some old Prima flowers from my stash that I adore, they are white so I sprayed them with some Glimmer Mist in Marmalade to pick up the reddish orange shade in the challenge. I also was able to use those cute brads that are Basic Grey, found those for a killer price on Clearance from my local Beverly's . The most challenging part for me with the time constraints is the layout, usually I spend a lot of time on the composition so I felt rushed, but it was fun to do something different. I'm learning to go with my gut and go for the first composition that comes to me!
These colors seemed like a cheery version of Thanksgiving so I took advantage of that for my sentiment. Kinda fun to play around with 3 different word sources!
I will also be entering this into 365 Cards challenge Day 253 "Thrift Thursday" they are looking for: something from your stash 1 year old (Prima flowers) and something you got a killer deal on (brads).
Thanks for stopping by!
This card is beautiful! Love those flowers and you did a great job staying within the time limit!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you joined along in the 10 Minute Craft Dash. I hope you'll play along again in the future!
This is pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at 365cards!

Well done, that looks like it would take well over 10 minutes, so you did a great job! I also pull out my craft supplies first, as I don't have a craft room and have to work at my dining room table, and I'd be up and down and up and down otherwise!
